A) Standard twelve(12) month warranty effective from date of purchase

  1. This warranty covers all components/parts including the coil and compressor from date of purchase.
  2. A machine that is “Dead on Arrival” i.e. it has not been connected or installed, because it is for example damaged, will be replaced.
  3. Please note that a new machine will not be exchanged after it has been installed i.e. once the machine has been installed any faults on the machine will be repaired.
  4. The following labour costs, expenses and amounts will be paid by the company within the first three months only:

    The above rates will be adjusted annually to take account of any increases in costs. These principles and rates have been agreed to by all major air conditioning suppliers in SA (e.g. SAASA/RAMSA members).
  5. Any changes in ownership of the equipment or change in the appointment of a maintenance contractor must be approved and accepted by Trane in writing.
  6. Commissioning sheets must be submitted to UAD within 28 days from handover of the air conditioning equipment.
  7. Corrosion is not covered under this warranty. Corrosion for the spine fin coil is covered under the extended warranty.
  8. The unit and its accessories must be installed and set into operation under the direct supervision of a technician currently registered in the Safe Handling of Refrigerants. Further information regarding this registration may be obtained from ACRICSA at 011-455 1451 or www.acricsa.co.za complies.
  9. The installer must ensure that the installation complies with the manufactures recommendations concerning installation, piping and electrical work.
  10. The installer must ensure that the installation complies with the requirements on SANS 10147 Code of Practice for Refrigerating Systems Including Plants Associated with Air Conditioning Systems.
  11. The installer must ensure that the electrical installation complies with the requirements of SANS 10142 (part 1), Code of practice for the wiring of Premises.
  12. Any ductwork connected to the unit shall be sized according to accepted practice and installed and balanced to comply with SANS 10173 Installation, Testing and Balancing of Air Conditioning Ductwork.

Any Lapse regarding implementation of the above will immediately render the warranty null and void. B) Extended Warranty

  1. The extended warranty is only granted on application made to UAD i.e. the extended warranty card (see attached copy) must be completed in full and sent to UAD within 28 days from handover/commissioning of machines.
  2. The original installation/commissioning procedures, warranty obligations, owner’s responsibilities and service procedures referred to in the extended warranty conditions and limitations application must be adhered to (refer to the attached copy). The original installation/commissioning procedure and service procedure forms must be returned to UAD within 28 days from handover/servicing/commissioning of machines.
  3. An extended warranty record is created by UAD for each warranty card received.
  4. For record purposes copies of all annual and bi-annual service report sheets must be submitted to UAD within 21 days after the month in which the service has been carried out.

Any Lapse regarding implementation of the above will immediately render the warranty null and void.

C) Warranty Claim Procedures

  1. The attached warranty claim form must be fully completed by the owner purchaser and submitted to UAD with an order indicating the price for the part required.
  2. A replacement part is delivered to the contractor (at UAD‘s cost).
  3. All parts are charged for in full and will only be credited once:
    1. The original part has been returned by the customer to UAD (at the owner’s cost). (a claim will not be processed if the part is not returned to UAD within 21 days and the client will be liable for the full amount charged).
    2. UAD has tested the part and confirmed the warranty is valid.
  4. Prior to commencement of work, an authorised order number must be obtained from UAD detailing the costs to be recovered for the amounts as per number 4, above. The invoice to UAD must reflect this order number and it will only become payable once number 3, above has been completed.

Any Lapse regarding implementation of the above will immediately render the warranty null and void.
